the one with the search engine term

Stalking. In this day and age, we all do that. Yes. We. Including me. LOL

Since the dawn of the internet age, everything is just a button away. And when I say everything, it includes everyone. Whether you only have a nick name and a location, you can easily google that person and find his Facebook page. When you only have a picture to begin with, but you know that that person is a friend of a friend, just look at Facebook and search your friend’s friends. See if any of those faces in his or her long list of friends matches the picture you have at hand or at memory.

So why am I talking about this? Interestingly enough, one of the reasons why I joined, or rather transferred to wordpress from blogger paid off (or in some weird way). My old blog, which if I remember correctly is http://asthestorygoes-xp.blogspot.com, was one hosted by blogger. But I transferred to wordpress a couple of years ago because it had much more statistical details and it was just more classy – plus I wanted a change of environment so I made the shift, even though it was just on the internet. So this morning I opened my laptop like any usual day, logged in on Facebook and checked my email. When I went to my dashboard page, this picture showed up

It was… interesting. I didn’t even consider myself search-worthy really. I’m a considerably open guy, and let’s face it, people would rather search other people on Facebook, not on google or other search engines right?

Anyways, there’s no new “add friend” requests on Facebook so I suppose I won’t know who that person is. It’s flattering that someone would actually look for you in this bizarre world to the point of hunting you down on cyberspace. But kinda creepy as well. Haha. Maybe I should go on by an alias now? Hmmmm…

Internet. Facebook. Google. Oh how have you changed the art of stalking. I wonder how people used to stalk others before internet? Then again, I think I already know the answer to that. =P

the one playing badminton

12 01 2012

It’s been quite awhile since I last put up something here. I suppose one of my new year’s resolution – blogging almost every day – is a big FAIL. Then again, I suppose most people don’t really follow their new year’s resolutions right?

In my experience, new year’s resolutions never really push through. Every year, I always tell myself, and even to my friends about my resolutions – doing this, learning that, and even committing myself to something, not necessarily a relationship of course. But no matter what, not even a week has passed, and my resolution falters. So this really isn’t much of a surprise.

What’s surprising though is that some of my resolutions, which I have not posted here, are actually going through. Like waking up on my own. Usually I would have to ask people from my home to wake me up because I’m such a lazy guy to actually wake up on my own. I have some previous experiences that I won’t actually hear the alarm and when my eyes open, the sun is up shining and screaming “YOU’RE LATE!”. But lately, I’ve tried to use my alarm again, and it’s working! Well, at least it wakes me up and reminds me of the time but not really get up, but hey, it’s an achievement. My family actually noticed that so it’s kinda nice and fulfilling.

Another of my ongoing resolutions is actually to exercise as much as I can. I’ve started this resolution quite early, around mid-December – playing badminton. It’s actually nice and fun, and better than jogging (for me). Usually when I jog I feel lazy. My mind keeps telling me you have to do more but my body just can’t handle it. But with badminton, since it’s like a competitive and fun game, it doesn’t make me think of the stress my body is experiencing that much. I think that’s why I’m still playing it up to this date, where almost a month has passed. I’ve actually been playing more often now. lol. And I suppose that is one of the reasons why I’m not writing as often… kkkkk…

I’ve heard from someone that in order to keep up with your resolution, you should not say it to anyone. I don’t know if that makes any sense, but for me it worked. You should try! Maybe things will turn around.

the one who is understanding

4 01 2012

This entry was supposed to be about food and diet, but it’s not gonna be about those things anymore because there much more interesting and important things to blog about – well at least for me.

Its interesting when your fears are actually worse than the things that will happen in reality, especially in dealing with people. At some point, I have this pessimistic side about dealing with people – like they would say no when I give them work to do and not do them at all, or when people would complain when you wanna make some changes to things between you guys. That’s why most of the time, I’m always the one who adjusts to meet other people’s needs.

But there comes a point where you reach your breaking point – like the maximum allowable stress for materials in the engineerig field (geek mode).and when you reach that breaking point, things just begin to fall apart. And you can’t blame others because you never really spoke out your mind to them so they can do something on their part. But when you let go of those insecurities, those issues and pessimistic point of views of people around you, and realize that they are more than willing to help and to adjust as much as you, you begin to realize that things aren’t so bad, and that these people are the ones worth keeping – not because they’re understanding and all. But its because they are willing to make the same amount of effort as you do.

On a whole different level, I got hungry tonight. And instead of going for the usual chocolates, I went for melon, a banana, and a cup of yogurt. Yey healthy food!!! Lets see how long this can last lol.

the one before it begins

2 01 2012

It’s 20 minutes past 11 o’clock, and I’m sure a lot of my friends, classmates, and acquaintances from university are bracing themselves for tomorrow – the first day of classes after Christmas break. It’s not like your usual first day of classes where you’re so nervous because you haven’t gotten all your classes yet and you still need to hunt down some professors. Instead, it’s that time of the year where you feel so tired and lazy, wishing that Christmas break could’ve been longer because it was too good to pass – not to mention the exams creeping up on you since the last time you left school, cause apparently you wanted it to have after Christmas break.

Nevertheless, it’s a fun way to see everyone again and see how holiday weight has changed them. Everyone has stories to tell from their Christmas break – time spent with family and hometown friends, adventures and misadventures, and even their traveling.

For me, it was definitely a memorable one. It was fun going around with my family, taking pictures here and there, and seeing how happy they were when they saw snow. But something that would make this vacation so memorable was seeing my good old friends from Michigan after more than a year and half. It was so fun catching up with them that we couldn’t spare our time together just to take a picture. It makes you realize that at some point, what matters really is the memories you create rather than the pictures you are in together. It’s a life-changing experience, as cliche as it sounds. I hope to see them some time soon, when we all (hopefully) have jobs or pursuing things that we wanted to do.

the one coming back

1 01 2012

Who would’ve thought I would actually resurrect this blog after all these years? The last entry was like… 2008? Wow. It’s been 4 years…

The person who wrote those entries before is definitely different from the person writing this entry now – literally and figuratively. You can’t expect someone to stay actually the same after four years at this age right? Naturally that person would get old, gain a little (or more) weight, get to meet new people and have new experiences, and even do things he haven’t imagined he would be doing. But enough of the drama.

I’ve decided to continue this blog not as an outlet of my emotions like I did before; rather, it’s to keep all my memorable experiences here in tact. Let’s all admit, as we grow older, time flies faster and so many things and opportunities come rushing in. 2011 was a year of surprises, of big changes, and I think 2012 won’t give up that easily. As such, to keep all things in tact, I’ve decided to write a blog. And what better way to do it than continue the one that I left 4 years ago. ^____^

Let’s make 2012 exciting and a year of change, efficiency, and productivity! Happy New Year everyone! Have an ice cream, have a gelato!

the one invisible

6 11 2008

So I haven’t been posting anything for the past couple of days. This is probably because I have been watching anime everytime I turn on the computer. Haha. Which also explains why I am always invisible in YM. :) ) But sadly, quite a lot of people know I am online even though I am already invisible. Haha. They said they have this program for detecting invisble people out there. Haha. Oh well. Who cares. Haha. :) )

So what’s up lately? I though Nov.6 was a Friday, but apparently, I was wrong. Haha. It’s actually today, which is a Thursday.

I went to elbi today to find out when they would release the form26. Good thing that I ran into one of my orgmates. It really saved me the trouble of walking all the way from the OUR to EE Bldg. Haha. Thanks guys!

I finally finalized my schedule. I kinda realized that waiting for the ROTC to extened their slots would just be a waste. Also, it is one of my orgmates’ advice to finalize it as soon as possible so that my form5 can be printed as soon as possible as well, so that when it comes to getting m Form26, it wouldn’t be that of a hassle. :) ) Hope though that I would be able to prerog the subjects that I need. :) )

I just got a call from my aunt/eye doctor, and she told me where I can buy those contact lenses I was asking her about. Haha. Yes, I am actually going to try if I would be able to keep up if I use contact lenses instead of glasses. Haha. Actually, I’ve been planning this for quite some time now. But you see, only lately have I actually done anything about it. Haha. Oh well. At least there’s still a few more days to practice wearing it before the school starts right? :) )

Also, I just finished Shaman King, thw whole 64 episodes from start to end. Haha. I kind started last week I think (can’t remember which day) and I finished this Tuesday. Haha. The anime is really cool, even though it was kinda old. Anna-san is really hot! x_X.

Well, anyways, I also watched the latest episode of both Grey’s and Gossip Girl. I don’t want to expound on that since I’m not really in the mood. I really thought Nate and Jenny would hook up. And what’s with Rufus? He’s really becoming a pain in the ass for Jenny. Haha. As for Blair, congratulations for making it to Yale. Haha. :) ) Alex and Izzie! Yeah! :) )

Well I guess those are all the updates you guys should know. Haha. Don’t worry though case I can sense that I would be blogging more often again since school would about to start. Haha. :) )

Itte kimasu!

How could you do it?
