Change of Plans.
Instead of my English12 term paper be about various criticisms on C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia (which I haven’t read by the way), my paper would instead be about the life lessons I’ve learned form the pieces discussed in English12.
I know it’s kind of emotional and mushy, but at least I wouldn’t have a hard time doing this paper. Besides, I’ve really learned a lot of stuff and lessons from the pieces that we discussed that could be very well applied in our daily lives. Also, my professor also prefers this topic over the previous one. Weird.
Anyways, since there are a lot of lessons I’ve learned, or rather quotable quotes, here’s a long list of the lessons we, or I, have encountered.
- Pride goeth before Downfall.
- Whom the Gods wish to destroy first makes them Angry.
- The Law is not a tyrant. We must only aline ourselves to it so that we could Benefit from it. Break it and we will punish ourselves.
- There is no sin. There is only Ignorance.
- Absolute Right and Aboslute Wrong exist.
- No one has the Right to Kill.
- Fools learn by Their Mistakes. The Wise learn by the Mistakes of Others.
- A Great Man shows his Greatness through his Gentleness.
- To commit Sin is Easy. To do Good is Difficult.
- The inevitable fate of all humans – Death.
- It is not the Length of Life that matters. It is the Impact.
- Evil is a Reality we have to contend with.
- Sinners bring destruction to those whom they love.
- If the Dao can be the Dao, then that is not The Dao.
- Each one has his own Perception of God.
- The Divine is One, but has many Names and Forms.
- Religion is just a Means to get to God.
- The Form or Ceremonies of God are not important. What is important is the understanding that God is Truth.
- Your loyalty does not belong to the tribe. It belongs to God.
- Absolute Good is at War with Absolute Evil.
- Be True to Yourself, and search for Your Soul.
- The Only Thing I Know is I Don’t Know Anything.
- Doing Unto Others as You would have them Do Unto You.
- You Can Change Your Destiny.
- Every Cause will generate an Effect.
- Everything that happiness to us is a Consequence of what we have Intentionally thought, said, or done in the past.
- Nobody punishes you and Nobody rewards you but you.
- One with Faults should not fear to Correct Them.
- An Ordinary Man fears Consequences. A Wise Man fears Causes.
- Money is Not Everything. But Without Money, you can’t do Anything.
- You were Born Alone. You would Die Alone.
- Doing Good is the Best Guarantee to have a Good Death.
Some people might not agree with the lessons stated above. Even I don’t agree with some of the lessons above. But still, some people might. It really depends on your perception of things.
And besides, they really look, or sound, like quotable quotes or words of wisdom. Haha.
