the one handling the pressure

30 06 2008
Tomorrow’s another big day. If last week, I was worrying about the exam, well this time is much more to worry about: the interview.

Like I said, I passed the exam, but there is still an interview to go through. I’m the first one tomorrow, 9am. I hope everything goes well, and I hope that I will be able to express my answers in the right and correct way. Waaah!

The pressure is on. Crap. I hope I don’t snap.

Anyways, pray for me guys! My future is on the line tomorrow. I don’t want to spend the next six months blaming myself for not doing the best I can in the interview. Haha.

Just kidding.

I waited till I saw the sign, don’t know why I didn’t come.

the one after lab class

26 06 2008
I’m hungry, and I’m tired. Chem40 lab was okay, but the last couple minutes (or seconds) were pretty much a blur because everyone was moving so fast that it seemed as though everything was moving in fast forward motion. Haha.

So I slept late last night, and for those who know me well-enough, late is a term I use when I am still awake past midnight. So right now, I am very very sleepy.

Lack of sleep, hunger, and stress makes me grumpier than usual, but fortunately, nothing of it affects any of my activites for the day, as far as noon is concerned.

I wasn’t able to post everything I wanted to type last night because I was too tired to type everything. So the previous entry was just too short compared to what I really wanted to say. Haha.

For one, yesterday turned out to be a pretty great day. Though I don’t think I would be abkle every little detail about yesterday, but I’m pretty sure that I would remember those ‘memorable’ and ‘life-changing’ events that happened.

Where do I start?

So the yesterday started off the usual. Late to rise, but not late at class, or at least not significantly late. Haha. Physics lab was all about Coloumb’s Law. Apparently, our experiment was all about an electroscope and the Van De Graaff. Haha. For my high school batchmates, they know this pretty well, especially my classmates at the time. You see, we had an actvity that we were supposed to make an improvised electroscope using copper wires, aluminum foils, and a glass jar with it’s lid. Haha. I still remember that day, and everyone was rubbing their plastic sheets as though their whole quarterly grad depended on it. Haha. And the Van  De Graaff (I don’t know if this is the right spelling), I still remember when one of my female classmates volunteered to touch the instrument, then all of a sudden, her long hair started rising. Haha. Memories.

I also made new acquaintances with one of my PE classmates. His name is Won, and he is an exchange student from Korea. He can speak and understand simple English, but he really has an accent that I never heard of, so I had a problem listening to what he was saying. Fortunately though, he understands my English, whatever English it is. Haha.

Haha. I guess that’s all. There’s som much more, but then I relaized that putting everything would just take me longer here in the internet shop, cost me much more, and is rather pointless. Haha. Oh well.

My next class starts at 11:30, and apparently, I have straight classes until 5:30 in the afternoon. x_X.

Also, my oh-so-new blockmates have invited me their block dinner. They still don’t know where, but they do know when and where to meet. Haha. They’re pretty much very accomadating, according to my perspective that is. We’ll see. Haha.

It doesn’t really matter now you’re gone. You never were around that much to speak of.

the one who got a callback

25 06 2008
I just got home from UPLB. Yes. It’s almost 11 in the evening. What did I do? Nothing really. Just attended an orientation from UPLB SChemES a.k.a. University of the Philippines Los Banos Society of Chemical Engineering Students. Hehe. It sounded like the org I joined in UPDil, UP ALCHEMES – University of the Philippines Academic League of Chemical Enginering Students. Haha. Oh well. I’m not saying that I would join UPLB-SChemES, but as I said in the orientation, I want to keep my options open for now. I mean, if I am going to spend my whole collegiate education here, might as well join an organization right? Hehe. Oh well.

I got a callback today! Woohoo! If you only saw the smirk painted on my face when the Japanese Embassy called me during PE class. Haha. Yes! Finally, after a year of waiting, I finally passed the exam. Mind you, the exam was pretty hard. I recalled one of the math questions clearly that when I asked my Math37 professor about it, he wasn’t able to answer it. You have to understand though that the question I was asking him had nothing to do with derivatives or integrals but with tricky geometry. Haha. I’m not good at Geom.

I haven’t passed the scholarship yet. The last screening would be the interview that would be happening this coming Tuesday, July 1, 2008. Crap. I don’t think I do well on interviews, and I think it won’t help either if the conversation is in pure English. Crap. Oh well. I have to do this! I can do this! I’m so close to seeing the cherryblossoms fall during the season. Waaaaah! Oh well. Wish me luck guys!

I’m making friends today. Haha. And to think that the idea of transferring here to UPLB would only cause me total social annhialation. Haha.

I’m sleepy. My classes start at 7am tomorrow. Crap.

Be all that you can be, cause you only got one chance to do it.

the one who took the exam

24 06 2008

Haaaay. The day has finally ended. I have to say though that the day turned out pretty well, a bit better than expected.

So I woke up today at exactly 5:00AM in the morning. I was excited a bit though. My worry self was still asleep, and I was able to do things smoothly. I left the house at about 6:10AM. Surprisingly, I wasn’t able to sleep during the whole period of travelling, or did I? What I am sure of is that most of the travel was spent on thinking – not about the upcoming scholarship exam but of other things that’s been in my mind lately.

I was able to arrive at the embassy at around 7:30AM, an hour and a half before the start of the exam. I spent my first 30minutes of boredom in the car recalling all those electric field formulas, those trigonometric identities, and whether aldehyde was R(C=O)H or R(C=O)R’. About 8AM, I went to the Japanese Embassy’s gate and waited till the exam started. The whole time I was waiting, I was also busy texting Razel. Apparently, she wasn’t able to find a taxi immediately so she arrived later than us, but not really late for the exam proper itself. Hehe.

The exams were pretty much what the sample exams were, except that this time, the problems were a bit higher and the topics were pretty jumbled up. I don’t know if I would pass that exam or not. I was able to answer questions confidently, but there were also questions that left me asking myself. Haha. I don’t know if my confident answers is enough to get me through, so it’s pretty much a blur. Haha.

We will be notified during the week about the results and whether we passed or not. Yes. Within the week. The proctor said that the latest would be this Friday, because for the undergraduate category, the interview would be scheduled this coming July 1, Tuesday. I don’t know why they keep scheduling it on Tuesday though, cause if I do pass that crappy exam (which I don’t think I will), then that means that I have to “cut” all of my Tuesday classes – Philo, Soc Sci, Chem, Math. Oh well. As Razel said, “it’s for your future so it’s reasonable.” x_X.

If this is for me, then I’m sure He is going to give it. But if it’s not, then I’m sure He has other, and perhaps better plans for me in the future.

In other aspects, I was able to fill out my classcards. Haha. I am now officially registered for this semester. I’ll be posting my schedule really soon, if ever I have decided to post it. Haha.

Dad says I should sleep.

Haha. Till then…

The harder you try, the harder you fall.

the one with the chipmunks

23 06 2008

Tomorrow’s the day – the day I’ve been waiting and preparing for these past couple of months. I do hope everything goes well. On my part, I did tried to do everything I could do, especially these past two days. If this is for me, then it’s for me. If it’s not, then it’s not.

I can’t embed the original video of Vertical Horizon’s “Everything You Want”, so I guess this will have to do. Haha.

I am everything you want. I am everything you need. But I mean nothing to you and I don’t know why.

the one with the mango tree

22 06 2008

Word got out that classes are cancelled in Manila. Don’t know if the announcement applies to all of the schools there but at least it does apply to ADMU and UPDil. I just don’t know if that announcement would also apply here in UPLB. Haha.

But it really doesn’t matter if we would have classes tomorrow or not, because for one thing, I really don’t have any classes tomorrow. I do hope that whether there would be classes here tomorroe or not, the Admin buildings would still be open. Last day of lat registration here in UPLB is on Tuesday, and I have an appointment on Tuesday with the Embassy. Crap. I just hope that I would be able to enroll tomorrow. All that’s left is assessment and payment. X_x.

Oh, wait. I still have to do something tomorrow. Haha. I need to look for my professors for my Tuesday subjects. I am not attending class since I have to go to the Japanese Embassy for the scholarship I am applying for. I did already warn some of my teachers (Math and Philo), so the only subject teachers I have to hunt is my SocSci2 professor and my Chem40 lecture instructor. Haha. This really sucks, first days of formal classes and I am not going to be present. x_X. Oh well.

I’ve been really waiting for this scholarship ever since graduation from fourth year. The reason why I wasn’t able to apply back then because I was too young. Haha. But now that I am qualified, and luckily my documents passed the screening, all I need to do is pass that scholarship exam this coming Tuesday. Crap. I’ve been studying a lot lately, and there’s so much more to review. I’m working my ass of, but the weather keeps telling me not to study but instead, sleep. x_X. There’s still an interview though, but I must first pass the exam before I proceed. Waaaah!!! Pray for me guys!

In any case, because of the typhoon Frank, not only did it cause to sink a ship near Sibuyan Islands (condolence to the families, my prayers go to you), our mango tree got ripped apart. Haha. Yes. Ripped apart. Our mango tree, which was actually blooming by the way with very sweet mangos, are no more than ripped branches. Oh well. x_X. I guess it will take a couple of years before it grows back and produce sweet mangos again.

I just heard Paramore’s “That’s What You Get”. Mom says that the vocalist is a beautiful girl. Haha.

He won’t give you something you can’t handle.
