the one with the update

3 10 2008
It’s been ages since I have blogged. Haha. So here are some of the few updates that happened recently and not-so-recently.

Last week was a hell of activities. I don’t quite remember if I mentioned this here but I was actually a candidiate for Mr. Philosophy. Haha. Yes. There is such a thing/contest, and yes, I was chosen not only by my classmates but the other classes of our professor as well. You see, my professor handles four classes of Phlo1, and only one pair (a boy and a girl ofcourse) per professor is allowed to participate. I didn’t really want to be part of it, primarily because I’m not used to joining these kind of contests. Haha. Then again, it wasn’t my decision to be part of it or not, so I just had to go with the flow. Haha.

Well it wasn’t that bad. I mean a lot of my classmates were watching, screaming and cheering for me. Haha. And it was a wonderful and memorable experience, something that I won’t be forgetting soon. x_X. Yeah! I would like to congratulate the winners of the contest though. Haha. I didn’t win. :) )

Also, we had an informal debate in SoSc2 last week which was actually fun. No offense, but this subject really bores me. But that was the only class/meeting that was really really NOT BORING. Haha. Oh well. I guess I’m not really meant for the social sciences eh?

Last Saturday, we did not only have a WRITTEN EXAM in ROTC but an OBSTACLE COURSE IN THE MOUNTAIN as well. It was really really fun!!! Rapelling, going underground, the rain, the mud, the tires, the wall, the screaming, the shouting, the people, me, crossing an imaginary river with only a rope to hold on to, and all those other things as well. After that worthwhile whole-day experience, I went home as if I wasn’t a decent person. Haha. As if I am. x_X.

This week didn’t have as much activites as last week, but there were a lot of meetings that I had to attend. GA. Phlo debate meetings. And all those other things as well. x_X.

By the way, results of the previous exams were given this past two weeks, and I’m kind surprised and happy and nervous all at the same time. Haha. I won’t really talking about that much here since I don’t want to appear very “proud” to you guys. I guess I’ll just keep it to myself. Haha. :) )

HELL WEEK NEXT WEEK! Yeah! And to think that I don’t know the schedule of the exams yet. Or so at least I am not sure. x_X. This is good.

Oh, one last thing. Systemone distributed the slots already last week, and guess what, I HAVE CHEM32 NEXT SEM! Yeah. At long last, I won’t be delayed! Haha. Or so at least I hope. Hehe. Damn prerequisites. But I guess that will have to do. I can do this. WE can do this.

The bad side though is that every TTh, my schedule is from 7AM TO 7PM STRAIGHT. Nice. Very Nice. And WF are not so free either, though there are breaks within right? Haha. Oh well. I can do this!!! :) )

So I guess that’s all.

the one crushed

Only just now have I heard that David Archuleta actually released a single after Idol. Haha. Really. Just now. Why? Have you heard about his new song? Haha. I just actually heard from Myx where they just showcased the ringtone of his song. I only heard the chorus but damn the chorus was great! So I searched the net to find something and to my surprise, he already released a music video! What?!? Haha. Oh well. The video is kinda… childish? I don’t know. But the voice rocks! Haha. And I love the piano on the pier part! Very… dramatic. Haha.

Anyways, I just got my student driver’s license! Yeah! This is so great. After weeks/months of waiting, I finally had the time to fix things. In just a matter of two months (since that’s when my birthday would be), I can change it to a non-professional driver’s license! Woohoo! That means no more accompanying while driving. Haha.

I also finished studying for math, at least until the graphing part. The area formula isn’t that hard as long as you know the formula. Haha. I’m really having a hard time with roses. They suck! Haha.

I also finished (at some level) my prelab report for chem40. I haven’t finished drawing the set-up primarily because I don’t know which ones to draw. I mean the suction filtration set-up is the only set-up I have to draw? Really? x_X.

Anyways, I can’t get over David’s new song. Haha.

Do you ever think when you’re all alone, all that we could be, where this thing can go

the one with the reason

14 09 2008
I haven’t posted anything this past week since there were a lot of things going on. It’s been a long and busy week indeed. So let’s start by enumerating once more what had happened for this past few days.

We had another General Assembly last Tuesday evening – the night before the Chem40 exam. Since I didn’t want to be absent for the GA, I had to study before and during the GA. Haha. We talked about the plans for the upcoming second semester and at some point, evaluated the activites that were held in celebration of UPLB EngSoc’s Anniversary month. Haha.

Wednesday was just a normal day except that I had to vote for the Student Council and the ratification of the 1984 Constituion here in UPLB. For those who don’t know, UPLB didn’t have any elections last second semester because of some political conflicts and issues that weren’t resloved, so the election was held this semester instead. Being the good student I am, I did vote… but I didn’t really know who I vote for. Voting for the sake of voting. Tsk tsk tsk. Isn’t it obvious that I am not a fan of politics? x_X.

Also, we had our third chem40 lecture exam which lasted from 7pm to 8:30pm. It was… as usual, interesting, fun, and hard all at the same time. I was able to answer the other questions, but there were so many questions that incorporated concepts from the other two previous exams to answer them. Oh well. I have a sure one mistake though, but hopefully, my so-called “winning streak” in Chem40 doesn’t fall out. Haha.

After the dreadful Chem40 exam, I had to condition my mind so I can review for SoSc2 since I have and exam for that subject the following day. x_X.

The exam for SoSc2 wasn’t as dreadful as the first one, but there were certain questions which left me hanging about, if you know what I mean. I did fully grasp the conecpt of each of the philosophers, but it the full details and technical terms they used was just too much to handle. Like I said, I am not a big fan of the social sciences. Oh well. I hope I do pass this subject. x_X.

Thursday afternoon/evening, our Physics group for the Physics Fair met at our groupmate’s house to start off our toy car. We did a lot of experimentation, and we had a lot of so-called “prototypes”, and when it came to testing, boom! Failure. Haha. We lasted till 11:00 in the evening, so I came home about 11:30. x_X. And to think we hadn’t realy finished anything. x_X.

Friday came. I woke up earlier than other Friday’s since I had to go to my Philosophy teacher for consultation. I also went to SU with three of my brods and sisses to play billiards. It’s been such a long time since I played this game, so as exepcted, I wasn’t really that good. Haha. I also didn’t have PE class since our teacher had a varsity game to atend to. After all, she is the coach of the team. Haha.

Our Physics group later that evening met once again to finish what we started the previous night. Haha. We had to force our minds and our bodies to work together since we were all so tired and sleepy. Imagine twelve people trying to make a tamiya-sized toy car that wil survive a rocky road, a six-foot fall from the ground, and a fiery path! Crap. We finished up to 2:30am. Nice one. I arrived home no later than 3am. 8 hours of working. Nice…

Saturday arrived. I didn’t attend ROTC since I had to attend the Physics Fair. Our group actually WON! Haha. I don’t want to go into the details how we won cause that would make this entry longer than it already is. We WON! Haha. At least our hard work paid off right? Yeah.

Congratulations F6L! I’m so proud of you! Haha.

So I guess that summarizes why I wasn’t able to make an entry for the past few days. Sounds reasonable? Sounds reasonable for me. Haha. x_X.

But the “busy week” doesn’t stop there. I can feel that the it’s just about to start. Oh well.

By the way, I found this song on MTV and I got caught up with the melody and the lyrics that I decided to download it on my computer. Haha. It’s Keri Hilson’s “Energy”. Haha. It’s quite a sad song. Sad melody. Sad lyrics. It makes me sad all around. Haha. Weird.

There’s no “we”. There’s only “you” and “me”.

the one feeling mixed feelings

28 08 2008

Mixed results corresponds to mixed feelings as well. Apparently, it’s one hell of a roller-coaster ride today, especially the results of my exams.

My Chem40 exam(s) were not yet released since Ma’am hasn’t finished checking our bluebooks.

Math tentative standings were released, and to my surprise (really, it is a surprise for me), I got a relatively high standing. Yeah! Haha. That’s good news. But that’s only tentative standing, so worst case scenario would be two steps lower I guess. Haha. Oh well.

SoSc2 exams were given hours ago and frankly, I was noy surprised at all. I guess this would be my first failed exam in UP huh? Haha. Oh well. I guess I really suck when it comes to GE subjects. I never really expected myself to ace those subjects, but I always do try (though not always my best). I was not surprised because I know that I wasn’t listening during his lectures, and that my mind always flies away during class period. Haha. So now, I guess I need to listen more to sir and do more notes, and if I need to, I guess some research on the net would help. Haha. What my score in the exam I won’t tell. There’s still a probability that I would pass that last exam since Sir hasn’t finished checking the essay part. Haha. Oh well.

We also had a surprise quiz in Phlo today which was… I don’t know, surprising? Surprising in a bad way since it was after all a surprise. But it was also surprising in a good way since I was able to get a higher score than expected (though not passing). Haha. Oh well. Guess I’ll have to do better next time. Yeah!

Mixed feelings right? I guess that’s why I chose an engineering course – because relatively, I do good with math and the natural sciences. The humanities and social sciences, not so much at all. Haha. I guess I can’t be good at everything right? Haha. Oh well.

Tomorrow would be another busy day, so I’ll have to sleep early to recharge myself. Haha. Yeah!

That’s a secret I’ll never tell.

the one after hell week

23 07 2008
So many things are happening that I barely have the time to type a blog entry. Haha. Since I have a dinner event that I have to attend to in a few minutes, let’s make this quick shall we?

Last week was hell week, and if ever you think that I wasn’a able to survive all those crap, then you better think twice who the hell is actually typing this entry. Haha.

Exams were just alright. I don’t know if I would pass or fail or even excel at the exam, but what I am sure of is that I couldn’t have done any better. x_X.

Deliberation was also just alright. I wasn’t much in the hot seat, but I think that I wasn’t able to answer one of theri questions right. Haha. Oh well.

Finals was also last week. Tiring. Stressful. Physical anf Mental. But I am glad that it’s all over. Finally, I am now a member of UPLB Engineering Society! Woohoo.

I went to Diliman just this Monday in the hopes of seeing people and moreover to get my transcript. I was able to do the latter goal, but I wasn’t able to see EVERYONE since my wholed body was still in pain due to the finals.

I was able to validate my ID! Haha. Funny thing is, she knows my last name. Haha. Oh well.

I guess that’s all. Nothing more. Haha.

Nothing’s real until you let go completely.

the one about the third training day

12 07 2008
What to write in this entry? Hmmmm.

I woke up grumpy today, for the sole reason that my sleep wasn’t as relazing or as long as it should be. Usually, I need at least 6 hours of sleep to be able to wake up without complaint. I sletp at 10:30, and I woke up at 5:30. Oh, wait. That’s 7 hours. Haha. I don’t know. My sleep didn’t feel right. Haha.

In any case, we had our third training day in ROTC. I was relatively late, while they were forming in the platoon, I was looking at them far away from the jeepney that I was in, thinking in my mind how the hell would I be able to catch up. Haha. But in the end, our platoon commander “spoiled” us late ones and didn’t require us to do push-ups or anything. Yehey!

Apparently, there is something to shave in my face. Crap. And to think that they wouldn’t notice it. Oh well. I guess next time.

Our platoon was relatively advanced compared to the others because we are fas learners. Haha. The only thing that we, or rather I, am not good at the time was determining which one is right and which one is left. Haha. Our platoon commander even asked me if I ate breakfast, which I did. But nevertheless, we executed the commands correctly so we finished with the marching drills earlier, perhaps too early.

In order to kill time, and so as to not waste time sitting in the grass, our platoon commander asked us if we want to do the rifle training. All of us enthusiastically said “Sir YES Sir”. Haha. So we did proceed to the rifle excercises, though only a few commands were taught since we only had limited time. But nonetheless, we were able to do the rifle excercises which were supposed to be taught on out SEVENTH training day, not the third. Haha. Our BatCom (I don’t know if it’s true or not) told us that we were going to be the Rayadillo Company of our batch since we are fast learners and that we know more compared to the other platoons. Haha. I do hope so that we would be the Rayadillo Company so I won’t be needing to audition anymore, but I think he was joking. Haha. Oh well.

That’s all for ROTC I guess.

Prove your worth.
