the one with the mango tree

22 06 2008

Word got out that classes are cancelled in Manila. Don’t know if the announcement applies to all of the schools there but at least it does apply to ADMU and UPDil. I just don’t know if that announcement would also apply here in UPLB. Haha.

But it really doesn’t matter if we would have classes tomorrow or not, because for one thing, I really don’t have any classes tomorrow. I do hope that whether there would be classes here tomorroe or not, the Admin buildings would still be open. Last day of lat registration here in UPLB is on Tuesday, and I have an appointment on Tuesday with the Embassy. Crap. I just hope that I would be able to enroll tomorrow. All that’s left is assessment and payment. X_x.

Oh, wait. I still have to do something tomorrow. Haha. I need to look for my professors for my Tuesday subjects. I am not attending class since I have to go to the Japanese Embassy for the scholarship I am applying for. I did already warn some of my teachers (Math and Philo), so the only subject teachers I have to hunt is my SocSci2 professor and my Chem40 lecture instructor. Haha. This really sucks, first days of formal classes and I am not going to be present. x_X. Oh well.

I’ve been really waiting for this scholarship ever since graduation from fourth year. The reason why I wasn’t able to apply back then because I was too young. Haha. But now that I am qualified, and luckily my documents passed the screening, all I need to do is pass that scholarship exam this coming Tuesday. Crap. I’ve been studying a lot lately, and there’s so much more to review. I’m working my ass of, but the weather keeps telling me not to study but instead, sleep. x_X. There’s still an interview though, but I must first pass the exam before I proceed. Waaaah!!! Pray for me guys!

In any case, because of the typhoon Frank, not only did it cause to sink a ship near Sibuyan Islands (condolence to the families, my prayers go to you), our mango tree got ripped apart. Haha. Yes. Ripped apart. Our mango tree, which was actually blooming by the way with very sweet mangos, are no more than ripped branches. Oh well. x_X. I guess it will take a couple of years before it grows back and produce sweet mangos again.

I just heard Paramore’s “That’s What You Get”. Mom says that the vocalist is a beautiful girl. Haha.

He won’t give you something you can’t handle.

the one who had a dream of death

13 06 2008
It’s Friday the 13th. Crap.

Last night, I planned on waking up early today for my enrollment. Yes. I planned to wake up early. I set my cellphone to alarm at around 5:50 am, so that I will have allowance just in case I decide to wake up and stare at the ceiling for awhile.

I did wake up at 5:50 am, thanks to my phone. But the moment I turned off the alarm, I came back to dream world again. It would’ve been nice if the dream that I went back to was nice, happy, fun, exciting. But it wasn’t. You what it was all about? Running. Running away from death.

It’s not the first time to dream about my death, not that I want to dream about it or anything. Perhaps it just happens. The last dream I can remember that was all about my demise was when I was being chased by someone with a gun. It didn’t “end” as the movies would. Instead, I woke up just before the bullet hit me right in my head. Haha. Too close for comfort as some would say it.

This time, it wasn’t about bullets. It’s about knives. Yes. Knives.

From what I recall, I was trying to “sneak” in to our house. Yes. Sneaking to our house. I was with a friend though who I cannot recall as of the moment. Anyways, as I was trying to break in to our house, some guy caught us and screamed that we were intruding. He just got out from the bathroom though so we had some time to actually break in and run. We ran as fast as we can, the man behind chasing us, but then we diverged to our different paths. He went upstairs while I head to the kitchen. At first, the guy followed my friend. But then he cam back for me. I quickly took some knives and ran. Then some girl tackled me to the ground. The next thing I know, she was on top of me with a knife to kill me with. I grabbed the knive I brought and literally “sliced” her. But I didn’t slice her that deep though. Just some scratches.

And then I woke up.

I woke up at 6:50 in the morning.

And to think that I wanted to arrive at UPLB by 7:00am.

the one who is not in the mood.

8 06 2008

I haven’t been blogging lately. It’s not because there weren’t any significant events that happened for the past few days/weeks. There were a lot of significant events that happened for the past few days. It’s just that lately, I wasn’t in the mood to type them all. Now? Haha. Still not in the mood.

I watched quite a number of shows/movies for these past few days.

Last week, our family watched Indiana Jones because my grandma wanted to watch it. It was a nice movie. As dad would say it, it’s like the “National Treasure” of their time. The movie didn’t start as most movies would started theirs. First scene, ACTION! Haha. Oh well. It’s a nice and fun movie. You should watch it, especially for those who are a big fan of aliens. Haha.

Just this Friday, we watched Prince Caspian. It’s a GREAT movie, really. The fight scenes were good, and the storyline was simply amazing. But I think some of the parts weren’t as accurate as the book. But I guess that happens right? After all, almost all of the book-based movies I have watched so far never really followed the book all the way.

Also, thanks to Kevin Guillermo, I have already finished watching the 4th season of Grey’s Anatomy. Hooray! Hahahahahahaha. The last episode was spectacular! Really, it was. For the first time, Meredith did something very unusual, and I think that she’s finally realizing who and why she is. Callie has a new thing going on. Mark is “growing” as he would say it. Haha. But I won’t spoil anything though, since I presume that studio23 has not yet finished airing the whole 4th season. Hahaha.

This may sound stupid, but my brother and I have decided to buy a USB cable for his PSP. Haha. You see, he didn’t know that we can download games from the internet, and I was just too busy and lazy to tell him and actually find a store that sells a USB cable for our PSP. Just this week, I/we decided to buy a USB cord, so that we will be able to download the games we want without spending that much (damn you UMD Discs!!!). The only problem left is that we still need to buy a new memory card so as to store our favorite games all at a time. Haha. Oh well.

So I guess that’s it then. There is something I want to blog about, but I guess it’ll have to wait. It’s not the right time yet. Haha.

Till then.

Almost believing this was not pretend.

the one who bought a book

27 05 2008

Hooray! Finally, I was able to buy the single hard-bound organic chemistry book in ATC National Bookstore. I’ve actually been looking everywhere for a good organic chemistry book since I’ll be taking it up sometime soon. Not only till now did I find the best book I have seen so far. It’s hard-bound. It’s colored. It has good paper quality (like the chem16 book) becuase it is not reprinted. Haha. Hooray! Even though it costs a lot, I still am happy that I was able to buy it. Haha. Nerd!!!!!!!!

So crs is conducting it’s last batch run as of the moment. I hope I do get a PE class. Haha. Even though it’s not that important as of now, I do want to get a PE class because I want to finish all of my PE’s as soon as possible. Haha. Oh well. Just so I won’t worry about it anymore in the near future.

A blackout happened early this morning, about 12am according to Mom. Apparently, blackouts don’t wake me up. Haha. Dad thinks that the blackout that happened early this morning was the supposed blackout that should’ve happened yesterday morning.

Perhaps it is very difficult to forget someone who you have actually been with for a considerable amount of time. There are moments when you can’t help it but remember the good times. And when you remember all those good times you had, you will always get back to the reason why you want to forget.

Forgive and forget – a wise advice, but not the most practical one.

the one who thought it was a saturday

23 05 2008

It would be too late if I make this post about AI. Haha. David Cook won. Surprising to others, but I guess he deserves it. I think that any of the two David’s deserve to win. It was just a matter of votes I guess. Haha. Oh well. Some are furious about the resultes, while some are ecstatic. Haha. Oh well. But I bet both of them would release their own albums, sooner or later. And basing it from their talents (meaning excluding the pressures of media and press, such as what happened to some of the recording artists we know), I think both of them would get far. Haha. Oh well.

It’s my brother’s birthday today. Happy birthday Carlos! Haha. We had a little swimming party today. We went to church first early in the moring, and for the first time our family had a complete attendance during a daily mass. Haha. Then around 9:30 am, we, together with my cousins from both sides and my brother’s classmates, went to a nearby resort, which is just about a walk away from our house. From 9:30 to 2:30, we swam and had fun. Haha. Very tiring though since after the pool party, I took a bath and went straight to bed. Haha.

So, lately, I’ve been helping my grandma publish/finish her book by doing some data arranging. Haha. It’s kinda stressful, not because it is hard, but because it is long. Very very very long. Haha. I’m rearranging the data gathered from her survey about high school students. Some of their answers are pretty funny, while some are very dramatic (in a sad way, not in a sarcastic one). Oh well. I guess that’s life.

I though it was a Saturday today. I don’t know why. It just felt like a Saturday,

I would like to extend my condolences and regards to those who have, according to Revee, lost the lives of their love ones and their livelihood because of the typhoon that came by to the country. I pray that those people can recover from the tragedy they have experienced.

Cause if you don’t dream big, what’s the use of dreaming.

the one about global warming

20 05 2008

I don’t know why but rainy days are fun for me, as long as there are no lightnings, thunder, and very strong winds. Here, in Los Banos for the least, such of these things haven’t occured yet. But it seems though that in some parts of the Philippines (and even in the world perhaps), these things have already happened this month. It just shows that global warming is already taking its place in our world.

Ever since I can remember, global warming has always been discussed in classrooms. From grade 1 to grade 6 (and for some, up to their high school), there always comes a certain time that the teacher would discuss about global warming, specifically the technical scientifc part of it. But does that technical scientific part of global warming really count these days? I mean, it does count when it comes to classroom discussions. But what about outside the classrooms?

Global warming has always been the issue. Teachers have always discussed this at least a couple of times in the classroom. But it seems though that steps are not being taken, and that some people and politicians do not take this event seriously. I presume that these politicians do not take it seriously because they fear, as Mr. Al Gore said in his documentary, that they would not be able to balance the environment and the economy. Tsk tsk tsk. What is the use of the economy when the coastal waters have already taken over about half of your country? Or perhaps the intense drought has already destroyed your crops? Or even the intense typhoons/hurricane that have already flooded almost one-third of your province up to the resident’s knees? Who would be able to need the economy then?

I salute the people who are trying and exerting their efforts to prevent this global crisis that is evidently happening in our world today. And I commend those companies and institutions that are taking steps, even little by little, to combat this global crisis. Perhaps, it is human nature to act, if not too late, when the problem is already causing a lot of damage. And perhaps it is human nature to take things for granted which really should not.

The Earth, as of now (cause I don’t know if they will be able to find another planet that people can actually live in like we see in futuristic movies), is our only home. And I think a lot of people (perhaps not the reader of this entry) fail to realize this, and maybe they won’t realize it until they get affected directly by this global crisis we are facing.

From my previous post, I typed something about the Mayan’s prediciton about the end of the world, being in December 12, 2012. Could it be possible that global warming would cause the end of the world?

From the news about a week ago, Kuya Kim (the weather reporter in TV Partrol), reported that it was the first time for the Philippines to encounter two typhoons at the same time during SUMMER TIME. Evident enough?

Oh well. I don’t expect people to change by this post, cause really, change is big thing. But I do expect people to rethink and reevaluate their actions. That’s all.

Do not do tomorrow what you can do today.
